A specimen for a biopsy should be taken from:

a. Necrotic area 
b. Subdermal layer
c. Border of an ulcerated area 
d. Center of an ulcerated area

Ans. C: While obtaining specimen for biopsy with the help of sharp scalpel remove tissue from border to have normal tissue along with the specimen.  Fix the tissue immediately upon removal in 10% formaldehyde or 70% alcohol.
